Fitted Bathroom Installation Process
The high quality of our bathroom installations is one of the main reasons why we’ve been in business for over 30 years and continue to receive great reviews, testimonials and referrals.
This dedication to excellence originates from our owner and founder Trevor and is delivered by everyone involved in bringing you your dream bathroom.
Here’s what to expect when we arrive to carry out your bathroom installation…
The Usual Process
Although every bathroom installation is different, we’ve installed enough in the past 32 years to know the most efficient way to get the job done.
The most important thing to us, apart from a high-quality installation, is causing as little inconvenience to you as possible. That’s why we offer a couple of promises on every job:
1 – You will not be left without a toilet overnight.
2 – We will tidy up every evening and use dust sheets while working.
We have a regular crew of tradesmen who will be respectful to you and your home. They work well together and are always willing to help you with any queries or minor alterations you require.
Below is the usual 5-day installation process. If any major building modification is required, this will be carried out before we begin.
5 Days To Your Dream Bathroom
Before We Start
Before we start we need a couple of things from you. Firstly we need space to store the new bathroom fittings and fixtures. This can be a garage or a bedroom, just somewhere safe and out of the rain.
We’ll also need you to clear your bathroom of all personal items so we can get started as soon as we arrive.
Day 1 – Getting Started
Most bathroom installations begin on a Monday. On the first day, our installer will arrive at around 9 am to deliver your bathroom fixtures and fittings. They will also arrange the best time to arrive each day thereafter.
It is at this point that we require the outstanding balance minus £500 (to be paid on completion of the bathroom installation).
They will then remove the existing bathroom, isolate the water supply – using isolator valves where necessary, and turn the water back on.
If you have a second WC, we will remove the bathroom one at this point, if not, we will leave this in place and work around it until we are ready to install the new one. We’ll never leave you without a WC overnight.
At this point, your old tiles are removed and plastering of the walls and ceilings will be carried out by our builder. We aim to have this finished on the first day but depending on how much work is required it may run over into the second day.
Day 2 – Bath and Plumbing
On the second day, our installer returns to fit your bath or shower tray. They will first plumb it into the mains then box in any pipework. They will then line the floor and prepare the room for tiling.
Day 3 / 4 – Tiling and Grouting
On the third day, we will begin tiling and grouting your new bathroom. We aim to have this completed in one day, but depending on the work required this may run into the next day.
Day 4 / 5 – Fixtures and Fittings
Once the tiling and grouting are completed we can install the rest of your fixtures and fittings including your basin, WC, shower enclosure and any additional accessories you have ordered.
Once you’re happy with everything, we will silicon seal your bathroom. This may require you to leave your bath full of water overnight so please ensure the safety of any children or animals in the house.
At this point, the remaining £500 is to be paid to the installer.
Your silicon sealant will take 24 hours to fully cure. Avoid getting it wet in this time.
Your dream bathroom is now ready to enjoy…
