Ultimate Choice Bathrooms in Essex
We are a friendly family run company who have been established in Stanford-le-Hope since 1987. We offer a wide range of products from contemporary to traditional bathrooms, wet areas, accessories and tiles. We also offer a kitchen design and installation service using the same team of installers and tillers etc.
Trevor who started the company in 1987 was a kitchen and bathroom designer and installer for 25 years before opening the business therefore knows the best and most workable ways to design and install your new bathroom or kitchen.
Everyone who works for us aspires to work to the same high standards as Trevor and this is the main reason for our success for so long. All our installation team have worked for us for many years. Our installation manager Graham has worked with us for 24 years and being a fitter himself he knows how the installation should run and how the finished job should look.
The dream begins when either Lee or Trevor visit your home to measure the existing bathroom or kitchen and listen to any ideas that you might have. In some cases people do not have a design in mind at all so this is where we can make suggestions based on our experience, the survey normally takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Every effort is made to match products to the ideas suggested and a detailed estimate with drawings is provided with no obligation.
Every now and then a new showroom will open in the area without any established reputation, unfortunately some people will be taken in by their pressure sales and so called ‘price undercutting’ estimates and use them with disastrous consequences.
Using an established company like ourselves who offer a free insurance backed guarantee with the CPA and who are ‘Trust Mark’ registered and have a proven excellent reputation is a much safer investment for you
What to expect from us
We would rather spend as much time as necessary with you in choosing your bathroom equipment and tiles to ensure that you are happy with your choice and the finished result.
Most of our installations will take 5 days, but this depends on the size of your bathroom and what equipment you are having. Every installation is different and therefore you may need to be prepared as on some occasions it may run into the next week. Most work starts on Monday morning with your new bathroom finished and ready to use on Friday evening.
The bathroom installation schedule is as follows. Monday; We will deliver all the necessary equipment to your house in the morning, (we ask if you can make space available either in your garage or a room for safe storage of these items) please clear bathroom area of all personal items etc. One of our installers will arrive, usually at around 9am on the first day and will arrange with you a convenient time to start each day thereafter. He will then remove the existing bathroom and isolate all water supplies fitting isolator valves where necessary, the water is then turned back on. If you have a second w/c we will remove the bathroom one, but if this is your only w/c we will leave it in and work around it until such time as it is ready to be exchanged.
We NEVER leave you without a w/c pan over night!! If building work is to be carried out the builder will also arrive and start removing existing tiles etc and plaster walls and ceiling as arranged. Usually this work is completed by Monday evening, but depending on what is to be done may run over to Tuesday morning.
During the first day our electrician will also call in and carry out first fix wiring if arranged.
Tuesday; The installer will return and fit bath/shower tray, first fix plumbing, box in pipe work and line floor for tiling if arranged. He will prepare the room for tiling.
Wednesday/Thursday; Our tile fixers will arrive and carry out the tiling and grouting as arranged, usually completing in the day.
Thursday & Friday; Our installer will return to second fix basin, w/c, shower and shower enclosure/screen etc, we will also fix any accessories purchased from us and complete the installation to your satisfaction. At this time your balance will be required and a completion receipt provided by the fitter, you can at this stage make any comments regarding your installation on the sheet. The final job is to silicon seal where necessary, which may require the bath to be left full of water overnight. (We ask that you ensure the safety of young children during this time) Silicon takes 24 hours to cure completely, although the water can be released from the bath the next morning it is advisable to avoid getting the silicone wet until cured.
Your bathroom is then ready for use.
All our tradesmen are totally trustworthy and fully qualified in their field and some have worked for us for over 20 years (we do not use labour who’s workmanship is not known to us). All our tradesmen carry dustsheets and will leave your house tidy every evening. Most importantly all our tradesmen work with each other not against each other, as is so common today. If necessary they will help other trades to complete the installation on time. All our tradesmen are willing to discuss with you any queries you may have during the installation and work to your requirements making minor alterations to suit your needs.
